Ayrtek was started back in 2007 as a business to progress the air technology that was originally designed within a cricket glove as part of my dissertation. Using the “air-tech” this IP was transferred into a cricket helmet liner that allowed one helmet to fit multiple head sizes by pumping air into the liner. This not only meant extreme comfort levels but also a vast improvement in impact absorption properties too.
In 2016 I purchased the cricket side of the business from the parent company that I originally founded in order to run Ayrtek Cricket Limited as a stand-alone company whilst the patent for the airliner was developed for use in other sports and markets.
Utilising a BSc in Sports Technology, Ayrtek Cricket Limited is able to design, develop and innovate within the sports sector to bring a range of products to the market under its own brand name once again.
